David Washco - Chair

David is a graduate of ASU with a degree in Marketing/Management. He is married and has a daugther. David is employed by a wireless carrier in Hickory, NC. He enjoys family time, outdoor activities, reading and “dating his wife”. David is a Sunday School leader in his church. He is also a motivational speaker and karate teacher.

Frank Coletto-Treasurer

Frank is a graduate of Oakton Community College with a major in business.  He and his wife Donna are local business owner/operators.   Frank enjoys, sports, fishing and football. He is passionate about feeding the homeless and mission trips.    Frank and Donna are members of Pursuit Church in Denver, NC.  

Irene Austin

Irene is a graduate from Lenoir-Rhyne University with a Bachelors degree in Economics/Business. Irene is married to and enjoys a large blended family of 5 children and 9 grandchildren. Irene is the General Manager of a popular, local restaurant.  She is also an active member of Ebenezer Methodist Church in Granite Falls, NC.  Irene has always been interested in improving the lives of those who feel powerless. “It is a great honor to serve in an organization that empowers others to become whole with Gods help.”

Dru Schneeberger

Dru is a graduate of Eli-Broad College of Business, Michigan state university.   He works as a Financial Associate.  Dru is currently enrolled in Southern Evengelical seminary and hopes to have a Masters in Apologetics by 2020.  Dru is married and has 2 children and a dog named Izzo.  Dru and his family attend Concord Church in Granite Falls, NC.  In his spare time he enjoys family time, ministry and music.

Debbie Haynes Board Member Emeritus

Debbie Haynes is the co-founder and served as Executive Director of Safe Harbor Rescue Mission from 2005-2012. She is currently serving as the Program Director at Safe Harbor. She received her certificate in nonprofit management from Duke University and is currently working toward certification through City Vision College. She is a member of the Catawba County Interagency Council, the Continuum of Care, and is part of the Nonprofit Collaborative of Catawba County. She is currently on the board for the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Vicki Murray Executive Director

Vicki was previously employed by Christ Church as the women’s Head Gospel Coach and Life Group Coordinator. From 1996 until 2009, she served as the Showroom Manger of A-1 Tile, a retail and installation business founded by her husband, Chris in 1994. Vicki realized her calling to help women become all that Christ created them to be and this calling led her to volunteer at Safe Harbor Rescue Mission. She began by leading a bible study with women attending the day shelter. She fell in love with the ministry and served as the Resource Development Coordinator for 3 years.

Mike Richey

Mike is married with 5 children and 10 grandchildren! He has 30+ years of leadership experience. He is currently employed in marketing and sales.  Mike attends Fairbrook Baptist Church where he is a Sunday School teacher. In his spare time he enjoys Baking, golfing and classic cars. 

Dan Castilleja

Dan is a seasoned Executive who has held executive positions in the Manufacturing, Construction, & Retail industries.  He attended UCLA and University of La Verne, with degree in Business and Economics.Prior to moving to  NC, The Governor of NM appointed Dan to the State Economic Development Commission. Currently, he is a Managing Partner for a business advisory firm. 

 

In Dan’s spare time, he plays all racket sports, but his specialty is competitive Badminton. He is a former nationally ranked player,with 11 Sr. Olympic Gold medals. He is also on the Leadership Team for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Dan and his wife, Lori are members of Discovery Church.  Dan’s wife, Lori is a health and wellness volunteer at Safe Harbor. 

Abbey Vaden

Abbey is married with children and grandchildren.  She is a business owner.  She has a degree in nursing and general education. She also graduated from Lucas Travel School of Charlotte.   Abbey attends Pursuit Church.  She enjoys, travel,  volunteering and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. 

Scarlet Davis

Dr. Scarlet Davis is a retired public school educator with degrees from Wake Forest and Appalachian State. She is a mother to one grown son, Justin; whom she says taught her by his actions how to have a heart of compassion for others. Scarlet attends Woodlawn Baptist Church where she teaches Sunday School for senior women. She loves to study, teach, and share God’s word and to witness His redeeming work in her life and in the lives of others. “It is so exciting to see God’s love at work in the precious lives of the women who come to Safe Harbor. It is an honor to join Him in serving through this wonderful ministry!”

Board Member Election Process

The potential board member will fill out an application. This application will be reviewed and discussed by the current board of directors. At this point, the board will decide if the applicant qualifies as a board member. Once a decision is made, a board position may be offered to the prospective applicant.
