Want to Go Deeper? There is never just one reason why we do the things we do. It’s complicated! Pathways to Freedom is a 12-week class that uses multiple materials in a discussion-type format to explore why we think, feel and behave in certain ways. Combining a faith-based perspective with a very basic understanding of our brain, you will receive helpful tools that will aid in understanding or changing your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors from the inside out. Cost is $25 for materials. You must pre-register to attend by contacting the Safe Harbor offices at 828-326-7233. Class size is limited to 7 participants. Class Schedule: April 3-June 19 6:30-8:00 pm July 10-Sept. 25 6:30-8:00 pm August 28-Nov. 13 12-1:30 pm (August class is for to women only) Oct. 2-Dec. 18 6:30-8:00 pm
Sometimes it’s difficult to recognize and manage difficult relationships with the people in our lives. Identifying patterns with these relationships and learning how to set loving but firm boundaries is a skill we all need. The class combines materials from the Safe People and Boundaries books by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. This is a 12 week class. Cost is $25 for both books and materials. Email email@example.com for upcoming class information.
Join Safe Harbor and Cornerstone Counseling for a compelling video essay on Monday, April 16, 7 PM at the Carolina Theater, downtown Hickory.
“In this high-definition video essay, Kevin McCauley explores arguments for and against this vital debate, reviewing the latest neuroscientific research about addiction along the way. Using the spectacular landscape of Utah’s State and National Parks to describe the brain areas involved in addiction, Dr. McCauley turns complex neuroscientific concepts into easy-to-understand visual images that will help people in recovery feel better understood, and their families and friends feel hope that recovery is possible.”
